Product description
Kiyoshiro Imawano is considered "Japan's King of Rock" and is one of the most influential figures in Japanese music history. Born in 1951 in Nakano, Tokyo, he founded the legendary band RC Succession in 1968, which revolutionized the Japanese rock scene for over two decades. RC Succession is among Japan's most influential and longest-lasting bands, blending punk with glam elements and anticipating visual kei by two decades. Imawano was known for his innovative integration of the Japanese language into rock lyrics, his political stance against nuclear power after Chernobyl, and his extravagant stage outfits. In 1982, he and Ryuichi Sakamoto had a hit with "Ikenai Rouge Magic," whose cover photo, showing the two kissing, caused a sensation. After RC Succession disbanded in 1991, Imawano remained active as a solo artist and became a regular fixture at the Fuji Rock Festival. His death from cancer in 2009 triggered national mourning; over 42,000 fans attended his funeral.
This Bearbrick from Series 27 is based on Imawano's signature visual aesthetic featuring pink cherry blossom patterns. The flesh-toned head displays playful graffiti elements, including a black star on the forehead, a red katakana character, a green and red throwing star, a black milk bottle, and other colorful motifs that capture Imawano's playful rock 'n' roll personality. The pink body, adorned with white and pink cherry blossoms and yellow accents, reflects his penchant for extravagant, colorful stage outfits. The arms and legs feature the same floral pattern, while the feet are finished in gray and multicolored sneaker designs. The central element is a stylized tree on the chest, symbolizing the connection to Japanese tradition.
This Bearbrick combines Japanese pop culture, rock history, and artistic design. For collectors of Japanese music history, fans of the Visual Kei movement, and lovers of RC Succession, this piece is an essential historical document that preserves the rebellious spirit and creative vision of one of the most important Japanese artists of the 20th century.

What packaging does this Bearbrick come in?
This Bearbrick comes in the official original Medicom Toy packaging (see specifications). This is often a collector's item in its own right and important for preserving the model's value. We take care to ensure secure packaging for shipping to prevent damage during transport.
What material is this Bearbrick made of and how do I best care for it?
Most Bearbricks are made of high-quality plastic (ABS plastic), unless otherwise stated in the specifications. For maintenance, we recommend gently dusting the figure regularly with a soft, dry cloth. On chrome versions, fingerprints should be avoided; cloth gloves may be helpful here. How does the quality and mobility of this model differ from other sizes?
Medicom Toy's production quality is very high across all sizes. Larger models (400% or 1000%) often offer more space for detailed designs. However, the joints vary depending on the size: In larger models (400% and 1000%), the arms and legs usually rotate in a single plane. Smaller Bearbricks (especially 100% and 200%) often have ball joints, allowing for more flexible movement of the limbs.
